We check submitted contact details such as phone number, email address, service location, and profile ownership information where applicable.
Professionals and businesses may be asked to submit identity information and documents relevant to their service category, including business registration documents, county permits, approvals, or regulatory documents where required.
Where physical verification is carried out, a member of The Real Plug team may visit the professional or business location to confirm the address, presence, and authenticity of the listed operation.
Badges are trust indicators. They show the level of review completed by a profile, but they do not replace a client's own checks before hiring.
A profile may be marked as Verified after the provider completes contact verification and submits identity and relevant documents for review. For businesses or regulated professions, this may include business permits, county approvals, or other required documents.
A Recommended Verification badge may be added after a profile has completed the required verification steps and The Real Plug has also carried out physical verification of the listed location or operation.
We want verification to be useful, honest, and clear for both clients and listed providers.
Verification does not guarantee workmanship, pricing, timelines, availability, or the final outcome of a service. Clients should agree on scope, costs, timelines, and expectations before work begins.
Submitted identity and business documents are used for review and verification purposes. The Real Plug does not publish private documents on public profiles unless a provider separately chooses to display permitted information.
The Real Plug may request updated documents, review a badge, or remove a badge if information becomes outdated, inconsistent, misleading, or subject to credible complaints.
Before hiring, clients should check reviews, view previous work, confirm contact details, compare quotes, and keep clear records of any agreement made with a provider.
