Electrical Site Visit – Residential House, Landless, Thika

I visited a new residential house in Landless, Thika to carry out a full electrical site assessment before the final fix stage. The client had just completed the wall plastering and wanted me to confirm that all conduits, switch boxes, and socket points were correctly positioned per the approved plan. I walked through each room with the homeowner, traced all the circuits from the DB point, and tested for continuity to make sure no pipes were blocked or damaged during construction. I also checked the proposed locations for the CCTV cameras, security lights, and the backup generator point, since the client wanted both security and power reliability integrated into the system.
During the visit, I noted a few adjustments needed: two socket points in the kitchen had to be shifted to accommodate the new cabinet layout, and we agreed to add a dedicated circuit for the instant water heater in the master bathroom. I took measurements for the cable lengths, load estimation for the main DB, and marked out the meter box and earthing position as per EPRA requirements. I explained the next steps to the client, including the materials list and timeline for wiring, and we scheduled the first fix to start once the roofing was complete. The site is accessible and the client is ready to proceed, so I’ll be mobilizing my team to Thika as soon as the go-ahead is given.
